Due to many factors, like emotional or poor diet, physical stress, the ovary does not make eggs always and the hormones excreted are not at their usual levels. Often there is less progesterone released to work against the estrogen. This can generate heavy bleeding from the uterus.

PMS is a disorder described by a set of hormonal changes that cause disorderly symptoms in the major number of women for up to two weeks prior to menstruation.
